Sprayed and poured glaze on “My Favorite “ vase. Placed in Raku kiln and fired to 1800 degrees. It was taken from kiln while still glowing red hot and placed into a can with sawdust and newspaper catching fire and starving the oxygen.  This created a myriad of colors within the glaze.   Some of the glazes produced texture on the vase in various areas.

This ceramic piece was placed inside a Sagara container with sawdust, salt, copper carbonate and steel wool.  It was then place inside Raku kiln and slowly fired to 1400 degrees. Heat releases fumes and smoke that adheres to surface of this vase.

“Copper Splash” was sprayed with Raku glaze and then turned piece upside down and poured multiple glazes in different areas.  Fired with propane in Raku kiln to 1800 degrees.  It was taken from kiln while still glowing red hot and placed into can with sawdust and newspaper.  This starves the oxygen and creates a myriad of colors within the glaze.

“My Dragon “ (Rattle)

“My Dragon”.   This hand built rattle was painted with ferric chloride and wrapped with aluminum foil. It was slowly fired in Raku kiln to 1200 degrees. Resulting color revealed after dipped into water.
