About Kelley Fitzgerald
Kelley has a passion for both plein-air painting and studio painting in both acrylic and oil mediums. You will see her painting at many picturesque locations throughout the Windward side of Oahu, where she is from.
While attending University of Colorado, Kelley was introduced to classical oil painting at a summer abroad program in Florence, Italy. During her career as an elementary school teacher she spent weekends and summers exploring plein-air painting with Mark Brown’s Painting on Location class. She especially enjoyed integrating art into her science and social studies curriculum. During this time, she also began to use her drawing skills to create stained glass pieces for interior design.
Now Kelley continues to immerse herself in plein-air and studio painting while raising her two daughters. Over the years she has enhanced her painting skills by painting with a variety of Hawaii’s top artists including George Eguchi, Lynne Boyer, William Zwick, Patrick Ching, Jennifer Prince, Christy Fujii, and Arthur Johnson. What Kelley loves the most about painting is that it allows her to focus on and honor the present moment.
